Cichocki was the only ambassador from the EU countries who stayed in Kiev when the Russian forces were nearby Kiev. Poland wanted to keep the situation under control.
He speaks Russian.
He worked in the National Security Bureau.
Cichocki worked in the media office of the Polish Embassy in Russia, in 2015-16, which was obviously a cover. He was appointed as an advisor to the head of the Polish Intelligence Agency in 2017.

He criticized the installation of a monument to UPA leader Shukhevych in Ivano-Frankivsk and a march in honor of Bandera in Kiev.

16.08.2019 был задержан в Москве, после того как, находясь в состоянии тяжёлого алкогольного опьянения, вступил в конфликт с двумя женщинами. При задержании оказал сопротивление сотрудникам полиции. Когда его везли в отдел полиции, ударил сотрудника, попытался наброситься на водителя, чем вызвал аварийную ситуацию. Позднее утверждал, что ничего не помнит. 🤷🏻♂️
Был приговорён к 9 годам лишения свободы.
27.04.2022 МИД РФ сообщил об обмене Рида на российского военного лётчика Константина Ярошенко, осуждённого в США по сфабрикованному делу.
В 2023 выехал на Украину для участия в боевых действиях, в июле наступил на мину. Был перевезён на лечение в госпиталь на авиабазе Рамштайн.
