Description
An embroidered shield-shaped item blazoned as follows: Per fess Sable and Celeste, in chief a sphinx Or and in base a demi-globe of the second, edged and gridlined of the first issuant from the line of division, overall a dagger erect Proper; all within a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) Yellow border. Overall dimensions are 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) in width and 3 1/8 inches (7.94 cm) in length.
Symbolism
Oriental blue is the color traditionally associated with the Military Intelligence units. The black signifies the Special Operation Forces support operations. The sphinx, symbol of Military Intelligence, denotes observation, wisdom, and discreet silence. The globe symbolizes the Army wide and unit’s global mission. The dagger alludes to the aggressive and protective requirement and the element of physical danger inherent on the responsibilities of the unit.

On a Dark Blue pentagon 2 1/8 inches (5.40 cm) on each side point up with a White star in each corner, a Celeste globe with Dark Blue grid lines charged with a Gold key in pale ward to sinister surmounted by a crossed White lightning flash and a Silver dagger point up with a Brown grip, all within a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) Black border.
Symbolism
The pentagon shape and globe symbolize the Brigade’s mission and support provided to the Department of Defense and the National Security Agency at locations around the globe. The five stars represent the five branches of service with which the Brigade conducts its mission. The key represents knowledge which demonstrates the unit’s ability to be the “First to Know.” The dagger with point up highlights vigilance, being on watch for the Nation and the <a href="https://forma-odezhda.ru/encyclopedia/o_stealth/">stealth</a> <a href="https://forma-odezhda.ru/catalog/view/theme/stowear/skins/store_default/Computer/img/help.png">Media</a> of the soldiers of the Brigade. The lightning bolt symbolizes the ability of the unit to strike fast with precision.

On a rectangle arched at the bottom with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) yellow border, 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) in width and 3 inches (7.62 cm) in height overall, below a white and black checkered chief consisting of two rows of five squares each, a field divided from upper left to lower right with silver gray above oriental blue separated by a yellow lightning flash with point at lower right.
Symbolism

The checkered area alludes to the overt and covert aspects of the Military Intelligence mission with the black and white colors referring to constant vigilance day and night.

The shoulder sleeve insignia was originally approved for the 525th Military Intelligence Brigade on 30 July 1985.
