This is the Indian Captain, Smit Machchhar. Remember his name. ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ

While flying 174 people from Dubai to Israel, Captain Machchhar was reportedly stabbed and seriously wounded by his co-pilot, who Israeli officials say attempted to crash the aircraft.

But Smit fought back. Despite his injuries, he resisted the attacker and managed to open the cockpit door, allowing passengers and crew to overpower him. Other flydubai pilots aboard then took control and landed the plane safely in Saudi Arabia.

174 people made it out alive. Captain Smit Machchhar helped prevent a catastrophe. India should be proud of him. Israel thanks him. A true hero. ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑ

One year ago, Captain Smit Machchhar asked a simple question: โ€œWhen we are up there and if something happens, whoโ€™s going to save you?โ€

He proved his own point when he managed to help prevent the hijack of his flight by his co-pilot who stabbed him.

We are forever grateful for his courage. ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ

Prime Minister Netanyahu on the investigation of the pilot who committed the attack:

"This pilot, the attacker, is currently being questioned in Saudi Arabia. I assume he will be transferred to Dubai very quickly.

He is a citizen of Oman. He will be questioned, and we will join the investigation to determine exactly what happened there."

Negotiations are underway between the Prime Minister's Office and the Ministry of Justice to extradite the Saudi Arabian terrorist to Israel.

In Israel, the assessment is that the chances of this happening are low. Therefore, one of the options being considered is that the Saudis will extradite him to the United Arab Emirates first, and then to Israel, although this possibility is also considered unlikely at this stage.

Speaking to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi from the hospital, the flydubai captain described the moment he made the decision to keep fighting despite being seriously injured.

He said he knew the aircraft so well after 17 years of flying that he understood what needed to be done. He forced himself up, managed to open the cockpit door and allowed others to intervene.

โ€œI knew I couldnโ€™t let the passengers die.โ€

Pilot Smit Machchar, speaking with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi from a hospital in the UAE:

"I feel an immense sense of pride. At that moment, I was fighting for my life, but I realized that if I didn't get up and act โ€“ after being seriously injured and lying on the floor โ€“ no one else would. I've been flying planes for 17 years and have been a captain for the last 11 years, and I know what's happening on the plane, even with my eyes closed. I knew that only one more push was needed to open the door. Despite my injuries, I opened it, and the rest of the crew came in and did their part. I knew I couldn't let the passengers die."
