Surah Al-Anbiya (21:30)

“Do those who disbelieve not see that the heavens and the earth were joined together, then We split them apart, and We made from water every living thing? Will they not then believe?”

Explanation

This verse highlights three important signs of Allah’s power:

The heavens and the earth were once joined together
Classical scholars explained this in different ways. Some said the heavens and earth were a single creation before Allah separated them.
Others explained that the sky did not send rain and the earth did not produce vegetation until Allah opened the sky with rain and the earth with plants.
Allah split them apart
Allah created order in the universe by separating the heavens and the earth according to His will.
“We made from water every living thing”
Water is essential for all life.
This is a reminder that every living creature depends on the provision of Allah.
