π¦π«β‘ Protests in Jalalabad and Khost. Local journalists write that people are demanding that the Taliban keep the national flag.
πΊπΈπ¦π« The United States announced the fall of "Imperial America"
The disastrous US withdrawal from Afghanistan testifies to the intellectual and moral failure of the American elite, journalist Rod Dreher told The American Conservative.
According to him, the result of Washington's policy was Iran's "domination" in Iraq, Syria was "divided" between the government in Damascus, Turkey and the Kurds, and the Taliban once again ruled in Afghanistan.
βThis is what came out of the crusade of George W. Bush. This is what is left of the American leadership in the person of Obama, Trump and Biden. And most importantly, the high leadership of the Pentagon, the State Department, as well as the foreign policy and national security elite are to blame for the Afghan disaster, βhe said.
As the journalist points out, Biden is responsible for the catastrophic withdrawal from Afghanistan, but in his assessments regarding the possibility of the fall of the Afghan government, he only voiced what the Pentagon told him.
βWho can have confidence in the command of the American army? Top government officials? Certainly not people from third world countries who were offered to cooperate with the American occupiers, promising that America would take care of them. And certainly not after such events, βwrites Dreher.
According to him, the current American elite is more interested in waging "culture wars".
βWe cannot erase from our memory what is happening in Afghanistan <...> These people are not able to provide a decent future for the majority of Americans, but they undoubtedly took care of their own children,β the author concludes.
