🇧🇫⚡ At least 30 civilians and 17 soldiers and government-affiliated militia members have been killed in a suspected militant ambush on a convoy in northern Burkina Faso on Wednesday, according to state media. State media reports 16 militants killed in the action, but no independent confirmation of this is available. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.

Attacks by al-Qaida and Islamic State -linked militants on security forces are increasingly common, with this being the third attack in little over a week. The unrest and violence between extremist groups and the government have already left thousands dead and over a million people displaced.
