James O’Keefe on the Felony Charges for Exposing Fraud in Minnesota:
This is not political. It is fundamental. It is about whether citizens still have the right to question their government. This is now a landmark First Amendment case, and every American’s right to speak truth to power has been put on the line.
Weaponized lawfare does not work against me. It has always backfired on the people who come after me. Most people find criminal charges and lawsuits stressful; the process becomes a form of punishment. But I love this process because it gives me the opportunity to expose injustice at the highest levels. My foundation will be indemnifying members of the Justice League, including Cam Higby for their lawful reporting.
I’m calling on all Americans, and especially all journalists, to stand united on a message to the prosecutors in Minnesota: the politics of fear will not prevail in the United States of America.

We did not apply for a ballot or deposit a ballot or attempt to vote.
We showed an elections official saying “you are the ID” and confirming one could vouch for eight others who were not there.
If that’s a crime, anyone who speaks with a polling official and asks questions is also committing a crime. Journalism is not a crime.

TALARICO TAPES: Williamson County Democratic Chair and James Talarico’s Girlfriend’s Family Reveal to O’Keefe That Talarico Is Portraying Himself as a Moderate to Win Over Texas Voters, but Privately Holds Very Progressive Positions on Border Security, Immigration, Abortion, and Transgender Surgeries for Minors
“James [Talarico], he's not going middle.”
“He's [Talarico] definitely going to play the middle ground because he's in Texas. but he is a lot more progressive on it [abortion].”
“Don't put too much stock into border security comments…“He [Talarico] and I have spoken about these issues.”
“He [Talarico] probably said that to try to make himself appear more centrist. He's very liberal…but we've got to get elected, so we can do something.”

I find it shocking how many Westerners actually believe exposure does not matter anymore. The justification for it not mattering is “Nothing ever happens to these people.”
But if investigative exposure no longer matters, then going to school no longer matters. Exposure is a form of education. You cannot learn about what you cannot see.
If you want accountability and justice (we all do) , that is impossible without knowledge. Consider this: They want to jail you, and you want to jail them. Both sides of the political aisle increasingly see incarceration and lawfare of the other as the answer, largely because we operate with different sets of facts and values.
But without knowledge, the outcome you want must come from the exercise of raw power rather than understanding and evidence. The whole point of America is representation, based upon the consent of the governed based upon the public’s right to know.
You may say it’s only about power. But knowing the truth will always matter, even when those responsible are not held accountable.

This is the sort of thing I would get a Senate candidate saying on hidden camera.
Was this really a candidate for United States Senator?
