Jalal Khodamoradi, Kurdish Environmental Activist, Violently Arrested in Sanandaj

Jalal Khodamoradi, a Kurdish environmental activist, was arrested overnight by security forces in Sanandaj and taken to an undisclosed location.

According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, Jalal Khodamoradi, a mountaineer and environmental activist from Hassanabad township in Sanandaj, was violently arrested at 2:00 a.m. on Friday, June 27, 2025, in a nighttime raid by security forces without any judicial warrant. He was beaten during the arrest and transferred to an unknown location.

Reports indicate that during the arrest, security forces insulted and abused him, searched his home, and confiscated his mobile phone and the hard drive of his home’s security camera system.

At the time of this report, no clear information is available regarding the reasons for his arrest or the charges brought against him.
