Last weekend I went out with my young son cleaning up rubbish. I paid £3.50 each for the litter pickers from a local store. He had a great time and was very proud of his work clearing the footpath of crisp packets and plastic. Many passers by gave him positive feedback with their comments. He now wants to go regularly. You don't need to wait for another group to organise a litter pick. You don't need an organisation to attach your activities to. Just get out there and do something, however small. It's rewarding to clear a bit of your local area and anyone who sees you immediately feels like joining in. It does help strengthen communities.

A generous and active member of the nationalist community had their child diagnosed with cancer.
