The Georgian parliament supported the law on "foreign agents" in a minute. The final vote is tomorrow.
The Georgian parliament's legal committee considered and supported the scandalous law on “foreign agents” in 67 seconds, the Ekho Kavkaza newspaper reported. Deputies of the ruling Georgian Dream party arrived at the parliament building after security forces pushed back protesters, beating some of them, the newspaper said.
On May 14, Georgian Dream MPs plan to approve the bill in the third and final reading.
If the bill is passed, Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili, who supports the protesters, has promised to veto it.
Clashes between law enforcers and protesters started at the entrance to the Georgian parliament.
