While the trooper was conducting the stop, a volunteer from North Coast Emergency Services parked behind to ensure their safety.
Minutes later, another vehicle traveling at high speed collided with the parked North Coast Emergency Services vehicle. The driver was arrested for OVI, being almost twice over the legal limit.
The volunteer who was inside the vehicle that was hit was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The victim was pushed to the ground and hit in the head, causing a laceration on the left side of her head. The group stole her wallet and fled with her rented 2023 Nissan SUV, which contained her cell phone.
EMS responded and transported the victim to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where she was listed in stable condition. The investigation is ongoing by the NYPD 100 Pct, and no arrests have been made.
