At approximately 12:23 a.m. on July 2, 2026, four suspects approached a group of people standing outside a BP gas station in the 7600 block of South Halsted Street in #Chicago’s Auburn Gresham neighborhood and opened fire.

Four people were shot. Surbezz Clark, 53, and Carlos A. Jones, 46, were killed and pronounced dead at the University of Chicago Medical Center. A 35-year-old woman, who was shot multiple times in the leg, and a 33-year-old man, who was shot multiple times in the body, were critically injured and taken to the same hospital.

🇺🇸 Driver opens his trunk during a traffic stop, and police open fire after discovering a dead body inside.

After receiving multiple 911 calls, San Bernardino County sheriff’s deputies responded to the area, located the suspects’ vehicle and attempted a traffic stop. The driver, however, failed to yield.

An alleged shooting suspect in Chino Hills who opened a car trunk after a brief pursuit and shot a man inside was then fatally shot by deputies.
