Two would-be robbers appear to have picked the wrong jewellery store in Bradford this afternoon — and their getaway didn’t exactly go to plan. With quick thinking from the owner of the store who struggled but managed to activate ‘smoke cloak’, that immediately disorientated the would be robbers.

In the initial confusion, police were seen grappling with the store owner, in the belief that he was one of the robbers.

🇺🇸 Several police officers detained a man who was causing a disturbance at McDonald's in New York. His partner came over and started picking a fight with the police, so he was subdued and also arrested.. and then a woman with one leg came to defend them, and she was pinned to the pavement and also arrested.

🇺🇸 NYPD had to drag a naked man out of the East River in a bizarre fight to reel him in.

The man allegedly jumped in near the Queens side of the river, and NYPD Harbor deployed boats to pull him out. “NYPD Harbor responded, removed the aided from the water, and transported him to the Astoria Ferry Terminal. The aided was transported to Elmhurst General Hospital via EMS, in stable condition.”

He is not facing charges at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing. There is still no confirmed explanation for why the man entered the water, so any assumption about his motives would go beyond the facts currently available.

🇺🇸 Why would anyone do it? A man tried to pop a wheelie on his motorcycle while riding on a freeway in #Idaho and crashed. Drivers on I-84 in Boise captured the incident, and thankfully, medical personnel cleared the rider at the scene.

Both riders were cited for reckless driving. The Idaho State Patrol posted a statement on Instagram saying, “Enjoy the remaining riding weather, but ride responsibly. Reckless driving puts everyone on the road at risk.”

🇬🇧 Dashcam video footage shows the rear wheel of the motorbike skid and slide on loose gravel on the dual carriageway in Poole.

The rider, who is aged in his 20s, lost control of his bike and broke his arm which required surgery. His family said he was considering legal action against the council.

He is the second motorcyclist to need hospital treatment after crashing on the newly resurfaced A3049 Dorset Way in Dorset, which is described by motorists as like “driving on ice”.

🇺🇸 A surfer was lucky to escape uninjured after being swept across a rock jetty by strong waves in Newport Beach, #California.

Red flag conditions were in place for Newport Beach on September 6, with warnings of “heavy surf and strong rip currents.” Footage by Newport Beach Lifeguards shows the surfer being carried over a jetty by powerful waves, jumping in the water just before another wave impacts him.

🇺🇸 HPD rolled on Kaimana Beach after beach staff called 911 on a man tearing through the sand. Witnesses say he looked high, yelling, swearing, throwing rocks at a wall, and scaring families off the beach.

Honolulu law makes it illegal to camp in a public park that is not a designated campground. They just do not enforce it until someone is already throwing rocks at tourists.

🇺🇸 Homeless man caught a free ride across a bridge by jumping onto the back of a flatbed semi-truck. The guy thinks he’s filming a music video right now, but his mind is in complete chaos.

Arnesia Crawford, 28, was arrested by the Port Authority for hitching a ride over the George Washington Bridge from New York to New Jersey. Authorities took Crawford to a hospital for further investigation.

🇺🇸 One person is dead after multiple explosions in #StatenIsland sent smoke and fire billowing through the air.

A woman recording the video captured an explosion on camera, saying that was the seventh such explosion she’d heard since the incident started.

FDNY said a call came in just after 2:30 p.m. Thursday for a reported shipping container fire caused by an explosion on the barge. Officials said EMS personnel found a man dead on the barge. The Fire Marshal will work to determine the cause of the fire.

🇮🇳 Indian-style robbery. Chilli powder heist at SBI Nagpur branch.

A 28-year-old man walked into an SBI branch, threw chilli powder at staff who had just collected cash from an ATM and snatched 4.53 lakh rupees (≈ $4,500).

Employees raised the alarm and gave chase; beat marshals and the crime detection team stopped him a kilometre away within thirty minutes and recovered every rupee.
