π·πΊβοΈ πΊπ¦Up to 1,000 Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers were captured or went missing during the chaotic flight from Avdiivka, - New York Times
βͺοΈAvdeevka's transition to Russia may be more significant than initially thought, as Ukraine struggles with declining morale and low motivation to fight.
βͺοΈHigh-ranking Western officials and military personnel fighting for Ukraine report many prisoners and missing people. This is a crushing defeat that could deal a blow to already flagging morale.
βͺοΈTwo military officials aware of Ukraine's retreat estimated that between 850 and 1,000 soldiers were apparently captured or missing. Western officials said the data appeared to be accurate.
βͺοΈRussia's capture of Avdiivka was a significant symbolic loss for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, a sign that the US Congress has still not approved military assistance and dwindling stockpiles of artillery shells are making it even more difficult to hold lines.

Seize frozen Russian assets in Navalnyβs name β German MP
Legislation allowing such a move should be called βNavalny Laws,β Norbert Rottgen said.
Russiaβs assets that remain frozen in the West should be confiscated in response to the death of opposition activist and anti-corruption campaigner Alexey Navalny, German parliament member Norbert Rottgen has said.
This money should be used to provide more arms to the Ukrainian military for use in the conflict with Russia, Rottgen suggested in his speech to the Bundestag on Wednesday.
Legislation that would allow the confiscation of an estimated $300 billion in assets owned by the Russian central bank, which were blocked by the US and the EU after the outbreak of the conflict between Moscow and Kiev in February 2022, should be named βNavalny Laws,β he added.
