ONS data shows net migration hit a record 606,000 in the UK, as the Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak says numbers are ‘too high'.

Representing a 24% increase on the previous high of 488,000 last year, Rishi faces accusations of deserting control of its borders.

The sharp rise had been attributed to people from outside the EU entering the UK to either study, work or flee conflict.
