🇨🇦 Pierre lost the election and his own riding. He was replaced by Andrew Scheer as the interim leader of the CPC.

He won't move out of government supplied housing even though he is just a citizen like the rest of us. Andy says it doesn't make sense for him to leave only to move back in after he wins the by-election. How arrogant is that assuming he will win?

A by-election that will cost the taxpayer ~$2 million. A by-election that should not even occur. If the Local CPC winning candidate can't serve for a valid reason other than to create a spot for Pierre, it should automatically go to the runner-up.

It's a rigged system to protect THEM not YOU. Besides how can a loser form any kind of opposition?

I say forgoe the by-election and just let him sit on Andy's lap in Parliament.

After a decade of deliberate neglect under Trudeau that turned our armed forces into a complete joke, Mark Carney’s announcement that his government will invest $9B more and reach NATO’s current target of 2% of GDP devoted to defence spending this year, 5 years ahead of schedule, is welcome news.

However, a new target of 3.5% (plus 1.5% in other related spending) is expected to be officially agreed to at the NATO summit in The Hague at the end of this month. The main reason for this, as articulated by NATO chief Mark Rutte and mentioned by Carney, is that Russia could invade Europe within a few years and we need to be prepared.

This is utter nonsense and unjustified warmongering. Putin obviously has no wish and no capacity to wage a war against NATO. This is just a pretext to fund NATO’s own indirect aggression against Russia.

We should make sure we have a real army so we can PROTECT CANADA and not to help Europeans and Americans continue to wage a proxy war against Russia in Ukraine and prepare for a suicidal head-on conflict against Russia. We should not spend one more dollar to that end.

NATO is supposed to be a defensive alliance but is turning into an offensive one. Perhaps it’s time to rethink our participation in it if it means further bankrupting ourselves to fund and support this reckless pro-war agenda.

Après une décennie de négligence délibérée sous le gouvernement Trudeau, qui a fait de nos forces armées un complet désastre, l’annonce de Mark Carney que son gouvernement investira 9 milliards $ de plus et atteindra l’objectif actuel de l’OTAN de 2 % du PIB consacré aux dépenses de défense cette année, cinq ans avant l’échéance prévue, est une bonne nouvelle.

Nous devrions nous assurer d’avoir une véritable armée pour pouvoir PROTÉGER LE CANADA et non pas pour aider les Européens et les Américains à continuer de mener une guerre par procuration contre la Russie en Ukraine et à se préparer à un conflit suicidaire contre la Russie. Nous ne devrions pas dépenser un dollar de plus à cette fin.

L’OTAN est censée être une alliance défensive, mais elle se transforme en une alliance offensive. Il est peut-être temps de repenser notre participation si cela signifie nous ruiner davantage pour financer et soutenir ce programme pro-guerre irresponsable.
