J’étais le seul à me positionner contre cela. Taxer les Canadiens pour faire changer d’avis à Trump a toujours été une idée complètement stupide.

Carney reconnaît maintenant que ma position était la bonne en retirant presque tous ces tarifs. La prochaine mesure intelligente pour nous assurer de conclure un accord commercial est toujours de mettre sur la table la gestion de l’offre dans le secteur laitier, le principal irritant pour les Américains.

During the spring election, both Carney and Poilievre campaigned on imposing “dollar-for-dollar retaliatory tariffs” on US imports.

I was the only one campaigning against this. It was always a thoroughly stupid idea to tax Canadians in order to get Trump to change his mind.

Now Carney has acknowledged my stance was the right one by dropping almost all those tariffs. The next intelligent move to ensure we reach a trade deal is still to put dairy supply management, the main irritant for the Americans, on the table.

Poilievre is again avoiding the core issue while deceptively trying to sound tough.

Canadian law is ALREADY very clear that people have “the right to defend their homes and their families against lawbreakers.” However, you then have to prove that you used force in a justified and proportionate manner, and if not, YOU will be treated as a criminal for defending yourself.

That’s why we need a CASTLE LAW that says you can use force (up to and including deadly force) to defend yourself against an intruder, free from legal prosecution. Home invaders should be treated like the vermine they are.

That’s what the PPC is proposing. That’s what this fake conservative will not say.
