The Justice Centre's new report addresses the issue head-on and urges governments to reckon with the consequences of their lockdown policies. It reveals plunging mental and physical health, record-high medical wait times, and staggering increases in opioid deaths, euthanasia cases, crime rates, and economic hardships, among others.

“The Charter requires governments to demonstrably justify any freedom-limiting policy,” says lead author and Education Coordinator Benjamin Klassen. “This requires governments to conduct a comprehensive cost-benefit analysis of their policies. That never happened.”

He adds, “Canadians deserve transparency. We cannot allow these mistakes to be repeated without accountability.”
