Gold’s role as global reserve asset keeps growing. It recently surpassed the euro and is second place behind the dollar.

And today, China quietly announced the yuan will be redeemable in gold in Hong Kong. The monetary reset is coming.

Brutal summer job market for young Canadians as unemployment for students aged 15-24 hits 20%.

Why is the federal government still approving new foreign worker visas?

Trump says he is terminating all trade discussions with Canada!

He wrongly claims that Canada has just announced a Digital Service Tax that would apply to US companies like Meta. That tax actually came into force a year ago.

It’s interesting however that he again references tariffs on dairy imports as a reason.

As I have said many times, the best way to strike a trade deal with the US would be to get rid of supply management and all these silly taxes that drive up the cost of everything for consumers.

WE PAY ENOUGH TAXES! Let’s cut government spending and taxes, and let’s trade freely for everyone’s benefit!

BREAKING: On Fox News, Trump declared that trade talks with Canada will not resume until Ottawa drops “certain taxes,” specifically targeting those on dairy, eggs, and poultry.

After over a Century of Confederation, Canada still has no real self defence laws.

Most civilized nations, even authoritarian regimes recognize this basic human right.

Only the @peoplespca stands for the right to self defence.

Carney is backpedaling on the digital service tax to save the trade negotiations with the US!

What a bunch of amateurs.

Now perhaps he could also remove the other major impediment to a deal with Trump by putting supply management on the table? Oh but ALL establishment parties just voted a law to keep it off the table in all future trade negotiations, so they painted themselves into a corner.

Note that Poilievre has always supported supply management of course, and also said he supported the digital service tax during the election. He had the exact same position as Carney.

For those asking for evidence that @PierrePoilievre supports the Digital Services Tax, here he is on the campaign trail, speaking to Radio-Canada on April 3.

"Yes I support the the Digital Service Tax. The principle is just. The idea is that these businesses generate revenue in Canada, so the principle is that they should contribute where they earn the revenue. So I think we should keep it in place."

This is no different from Carney. I look forward to seeing how the partisans try to spin this one.
