"Prima del pre-print, la mia opinione, insieme a quella di un gruppo di circa 30 medici, scienziati e sostenitori dei pazienti, era che c'erano semplicemente troppe questioni aperte su tutti i vaccini Covid-19 per supportare un'approvazione quest'anno. È già la seconda volta che Doshi si mette di traverso contro Pfizer. Stavolta pone, con la chiarezza che lo contraddistingue, la questione dell'opacità procedurale e della mancanza di dati verificabili. Fossimo nei suoi panni, staremmo attenti ai caffè bevuti in giro e ai viaggi in aereo. Non vorremmo facesse la fine di Enrico Mattei o John McAfee.

Con i consueti rigore e precisione, Peter Doshi spiega perchè i risultati del vaccino Pfizer non giustificano l'approvazione accordata da FDA:

(i) osservazione dei vaccinati su soli quattro-sei mesi, poco più di quanto avvenne per l'autorizzazione in emergenza (EUA);

(ii) nessun dato su riduzione di efficacia nel tempo (ad esempio in Israele solo 39% a sei mesi);

(iii) nessuna informazione su varianti e loro effetto sullo studio;

(iv) meno del 10% degli originari partecipanti ancora "in cieco" a sei mesi. Davvero un decimo basta a trarre conclusioni?

(v) dati insufficienti per covid grave, ricoveri e decessi;

(vi) approvazione accordata senza trasparenza e senza sentire un comitato di esperti indipendenti, come sarebbe prassi.

Questi i principali motivi per cui l'approvazione non dice nulla oltre quanto sapevamo, e ci induce a interrogarci su ragioni non mediche e nemmeno scientifiche d'ostacolo a trasparenza e condivisione necessari per passaggio di tale importanza.

Russia, Iran and China to hold joint drills in Persian Gulf

Russia, Iran, and China will hold joint maritime exercises in the Persian Gulf in late 2021 or early 2022, Russia’s ambassador to Tehran said on Monday, according to the RIA news agency.

The drills, which will involve naval vessels from the three countries, will focus on shipping security and combating piracy, according to the envoy.

“In the end of this year or the beginning of the next year, the annual joint naval exercises CHIRU will be held in the Persian Gulf region. Russian, Iranian and Chinese warships are taking part in it. The main aim is to practice actions on ensuring international shipping safety, and combating sea pirates,” Dzhagaryan said.

China may provide financial assistance to Taliban controlled Afghanistan

China hinted on Monday that it will increase financial assistance to Taliban-controlled Afghanistan, saying it will play a positive role in assisting the war-torn country amid global pressure to halt funding to Kabul until the Afghan militant group changes its hardline religious policies, Press Trust of India reported.

In a press conference on Monday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin slammed the US, saying it is the “main perpetrator” of the Afghan crisis and that Washington cannot leave without doing anything to help Afghanistan rebuild.
