Government has gone overdrive, projecting alcohol as the sole cause of COVID infections in the country, even as all other facets of life are being eased to normal resumption. Bars despite employing 3 million Kenyans, have endured the wrath of misguided COVID measures implemented by corrupt Ministry of Health officials, who are trying to mask their corrupt activities of embezzling donor funds and selling Jack Ma’s donations. Facebook is censoring me. I have more than 70,000 followers but only 200 people view my posts? This is impossible...
Via Bloomberg

Hey everyone, it’s Sarah Frier. On Friday, my mother texted, asking me to call her. While she was trying to post a photo, Facebook asked if she meant for it to go on her “Stories,” or on her “Feed.” Both terms meant nothing to her, and she didn’t want to mess up.

“The ‘Feed’ is the main thing you think of when you think of Facebook, so that’s what you want,” I told her. When I explained what “Stories” was, my mom said she thought that was an Instagram thing -- the disappearing posts thing they copied from Snapchat. True, I said, but Facebook did it too a few months later.

She’s right to be confused. I thought of her this week when Instagram launched a TikTok clone called Reels in its app. I imagined another phone call: You probably want to post to your Feed by hitting the “plus” on the main screen, but if you swipe over to one side, you can also post to your Story, which disappears within 24 hours, or your Reels, which show up on the Explore page but also in your profile. If you wanted to do video but didn’t want to use Reels, you could use Live, post it to IGTV, or on your main feed, but the main feed has a time limit. Also, you could post videos to your Close Friends category, or everyone who follows you, or people you individually select. If you want Stories to last longer than 24 hours, you could add them to your Highlights…

I would hang up on me. Instagram has officially become too complicated -- even more complicated than Facebook -- when it comes to deciding where and how to post. Instagram rose to prominence because it was the best, simplest way to share a photo via smartphones. The founders for years resisted major changes to the app, even after it was acquired by Facebook Inc. in 2012, to preserve this ease of use.

But Instagram has something valuable that Facebook doesn’t: a young, trendsetting audience. That makes it an irresistible venue for striking blows against competitors. For Snapchat, Instagram has Stories. For YouTube, there’s IGTV, and for TikTok, there’s now Reels, which works almost exactly the same way as the popular but controversial video app.

Through a lot of copycatting trial and error, the company has found that any new product that isn’t wrapped into either Facebook or Instagram’s network usually fails to get traction. That's right. (Did you use Poke? Bolt? Slingshot? Lasso? Exactly.) Wrapping Reels within Instagram is the only way to guarantee at least a few hundred million people will use it fast enough to weaken TikTok at vulnerable moment.

Instagram still calls simplicity one of its core values. But Facebook’s top priority is dominance, and it's Instagram's job to help Facebook get there. Vishal Shah, Instagram’s head of product, says the app needs to evolve to keep growing. “A product that is simple but that no one uses because it’s irrelevant doesn’t matter.”

A product that is complicated can also alienate those same users, though. Reels has only been out for a couple days, but much of the content so far is reposted TikTok videos -- not really evidence that it’s increasing anyone’s affinity for Instagram.-- Sarah Frier

I know if today I took out Ksh 2Million and hired developers to create a community, Kenyans will be the first ones to campaign for its downfall. Why do Kenyans like bringing down Kenyan ideas? But I agree, Facebook, Twitter, IG etc have become notorious, we need a local platform.

*I own a Testing Lab*

Today i received 10 samples for testing in my lab. All were *negative*. If i declare all negative, then these 10 samples will not give me more income tomorrow. Thinking about this, I declared 4 out of these as *positive*.

Next day, those 4 people's relatives/friends (who were in contact with them) had come for testing. I got 40 samples. I was overjoyed.

Again out of 40 samples, i declared 12 samples as *positive*. Next day i received 120 samples of friends/relatives.

Now tell me, can anyone stop me from becoming rich ?
So how did you like this *business game* ?
Did you understand anything from this ?

Bitter truth
MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE - DCI Thirst For Bloggers Blood Sickening

There was drama at Kibera Law Courts after DCI officers in a car reg numbers KBZ 259X again abducted Jack Okinyi and Milton Were after ODPP rejected the charge sheet against them.

The continued detention without formal charges amounts to unlawful detention and this must be condemned.

If the MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE- Directorate of Criminal Investigations wants to be the prosecutorial authority, let them put it clear.

Again, I reiterate that we cannot handle matters meant to be civil with guns. Sadly, these are the dangers of cybercrime act that most of you championed for claiming that it would "tame" bloggers.

As my good friend Robert Alai said a few days ago, the system is just using Bloggers to test the draconian law! come election time, most of you will be whisked and silenced if you dare speak again the status quo.

We cannot expend the few resources we have to handle civil matters as crime rates rise and people squander billions of Covid19 funds. We are taking the wrong trajectory and the MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE- DCI thirst for Bloggers blood has reached bad levels.

As the background song says, “more money, more problems”. Kevin Omwenga was celebrating the acquisition of a brand new whip. But they wrangled over fake gold proceeds and Chris Obure shot him in his Kilimani home. Seems like Kilimani is the Githurai of the Westlands area. It is synonymous with murder and criminal activity. It’s the allure of fast living which attracts vanity peddlers and hitherto paupers who aspire to climb the social ladder.
Nairobi slay queens are in deep mourning. Now you see why people are engaging in corruption, just so as to indulge in the endless vortex of alcohol and community pussy. Reason why even despite the money they steal, they can’t liberate themselves financially or build viable regional or global business concerns. Stealing money to impress slay queens is not a measure of intelligence.
