Filed January 2025 in federal court (Northern District of Illinois). The minority-owned concrete contractor seeks at least $40.8 million. The suit alleges racial discrimination: that the structural engineering firm made false statements blaming minority contractors for delays and cost overruns to cover its own performance issues. Thornton Tomasetti moved to dismiss, arguing no verifiable falsehoods were alleged. As of mid-July 2026 the case remained pending.
