Currently prioritized for (or limited to) active Premium or Premium+ subscribers in this phase
Willing to complete full KYC (legal name, Social Security Number, residential address, and possibly government ID + selfie)
X Payments LLC is not a bank. Deposit accounts are held at Cross River Bank (Member FDIC). The Cash Sweep Program can extend FDIC pass-through coverage up to $10 million across network banks (subject to the usual ownership-category and aggregation rules). Standard coverage without the sweep is $250,000.
How to get access right now
Confirm you have Premium or Premium+
If you don’t, subscribe (web or app → Premium). Basic tier is not in the current wave.
Update the X app to the latest version.
Look for the Money tab / Wallet / Payments section
It appears in the navigation (sidebar on web, bottom or profile menu on mobile) once you’re in the current cohort. Some users unlock it by receiving a small transfer from an existing X Money user.
Enroll when it appears
Open the Money tab
Accept the account opening documents
Submit legal name, SSN, DOB, phone, and residential address
Complete any additional identity verification if prompted
Set up a passkey (strongly recommended)
Once approved you get a virtual Visa card immediately. Physical metal card can be ordered from settings.

The rollout is gradual — more accounts are being enabled daily. Premium+ users generally get earlier access than regular Premium. Keep the app updated and check periodically. There is no public waitlist or manual request form; access is controlled by X’s rollout system.

Joint accounts are not available yet.
