French Rafales from the Forces Aรฉriennes Stratรฉgiques (Strategic Air Forces) launched from Saint-Dizier Air Base in northeastern France and flew a simulated nuclear strike mission over the Mediterranean. RAF Typhoons provided defensive counter-air escort. No nuclear weapons were carried or used.
