Why lockdowns can't possibly work: because hospitals, where the most contagious patients end up, can't operate under lockdown. Staff goes in and out. And in ICUs the ratio of nurse to patients can be 1:1.

The same logic applies to care homes, especially if there is an outbreak, as older symptomatic people can exhale ten times the numbers of virions as school children.

Lockdowns do not work for the simple reason that the most symptomatic and contagious patients are in buildings which are by definition exempt from lockdowns: hospitals & care homes.
