'The government stopped listening to anyone who didn’t support its narrative. Back in October 2021, bioethicist and former advisor Angela Ballantyne questioned the wisdom of policies that split us into vaccinated and unvaccinated.
“I think a major risk with the vaccine certificates or passports is that they are divisive,” she said on Q&A. “We, at all costs, want to avoid stigmatising certain sectors of New Zealand, pushing them further to the margins, labelling them as a threat for the rest of us.” '

It was all on stage, and there was stuff that wasn't resonating with everybody - and we learnt to be more tolerant of New Zealanders, which is what our Government and media are telling us not to do."

Freedom Village had a stage and microphone available to all - a 'public square.' Anyone could come and speak their truth, share their thoughts and express their feelings. People were listened to - they were not shutdown, shouted down, pushed off or cancelled if others did not agree with them. This is the Kiwi way. Respect. Listen. Learn.
