⭕️ Italy’s Ravenna port blocks trucks carrying explosives bound for Israel
Authorities in the Adriatic port of Ravenna refused entry to two trucks carrying explosives reportedly destined for Israel’s Haifa port, after dockworkers and provincial leaders demanded action against Israel’s genocide in Gaza. Mayor Alessandro Barattoni said the ban was needed to close loopholes that allow arms transfers despite Italy’s declared suspension of sales. The move comes as Italy’s largest union, CGIL, prepares nationwide strikes and marches Friday to push for an end to military cooperation with Israel.
The decision was made by Ravenna’s city hall, led by the center-left Democratic Party in opposition to Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s right-wing government. “Thanks to courageous dockers, we were informed last night of the scheduled arrival today of two containers to the Ravenna port listed as explosives,” Barattoni said.
Provincial leaders, who along with the city and region co-own the port, declared: “You must choose a side, and Emilia-Romagna and Ravenna know perfectly which: the one of innocent victims and hostages, and not the one of criminal governments and terrorist organizations.”

The duo’s statement then adds that they have requested that Universal Music Group remove their music from Spotify in all territories, owing to reported investments made by the streaming service’s CEO Daniel Ek through his investment fund Prima Materia. Since 2021, Prima Materia has been investing in Helsing, a defense company that sells AI software to inform military decisions."
