WHY DO SO MANY ENTIRELY MISS THE POINT OF THE PALESTINE ISRAEL CONFLICT?

Apart from the $7K+ monetary incentive, mass formation psychosis and attempts to further their own career, a key reason why so many otherwise intelligent people entirely miss the point of the Palestine Israel conflict is that they see it in terms of Islam vs Judaism. This is an entirely wrong framing of the conflict, no wonder they don't get it!

In fact the historical model of Palestine is an equal coexistence of religions: Jews, Muslims and Christians coexisted and had equal rights. This is still true of Muslims and Christians even in Gaza, however the equal balance was obviously altered by the creation of a settler colonialist state where Jews have more rights than any other religion, and that is the state of Israel, based on a model of a single religious supremacy over all.

Given the existence of Israel as a Jewish supremacist state, it is not surprising that today Jews would prefer Israel over Palestine en masse: there are huge legal advantages to do so.

Yet this was not the case in Palestine before Israel. The model was based on equality, and that is what Palestine still represents for its supporters.

When it comes to Hamas, it only came to existence as a reaction to the Jewish supremacist abuse of Palestinians. It did not exist before Israel's abuse of them. It would entirely disappear once the equal rights were returned to the region.

This is what the people on the "right" either fail to understand or don't want to understand: the religious angle on the conflict was created by Israeli policy, and groups like Hamas are only a reaction to grave abuse of the rights of especially the people of Gaza, under a blockade and control of their captors, they can't even have a port, an airport, passports or free trade & travel!

It is not difficult to understand the conflict, but you have to drop the religious goggles and put on the equal rights goggles instead, and look back to a model of Palestine where equal coexistence was the order of the day.
There is of course no incentive to do so by those who benefit from having supremacy over others, who will always skew objective reality to suit their own material benefit, presenting themselves as the victims, and denying they have been the aggressors since 1948.

As all the world can see it now, it is time to drop the religious framing, and return to the historical balance of equal rights & justice for all.

It is not simply about whether equal rights are created under the flag of Israel or Palestine, it is clear they have to return regardless of what the colours of the flag are. It has to be both.

The conflict is not "Israel vs Palestine" it is equal rights & justice vs religious supremacy & exploitation.

He warned that usury often disguises itself as help offered to those in economic hardship but soon “reveals itself for what it is: a burden that suffocates.

Reflecting on the Gospel story of Zacchaeus, the Pope said that conversion—like that of the tax collector—is possible when one encounters the gratuitous love of Christ. “When profit becomes our goal,” he said, “others lose their face and become objects to exploit. And in the end, we too lose ourselves and our souls.”

“The conversion of those who commit usury,” he added, “is as important as our closeness to those who suffer because of it.”
