Video evidence and audio messages have emerged documenting a horrific massacre committed against a Kurdish civilian family while they were attempting to flee Raqqa toward Hasakah, following a large-scale attack carried out by factions affiliated with the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Interior of the de facto authority, with the participation of allied tribal groups.

🔻 Incident Details:
Mohammad Ismail Saleh had gathered his family of 12 members into his small truck, heading toward Hasakah in search of safety.
Upon reaching a road junction near the village of Abu Khashab, they were stopped at a temporary checkpoint set up by the terrorist de facto authority.

One of the de facto authority’s members asked the family about their identity. When they confirmed that they were Kurds and had no affiliation with any political or military entity, the commander issued an order to immediately execute the adults.

🔻 Field Executions:
• Mohammad Ismail Saleh was executed by gunfire.
• His wife, Sara Shaheen Saleh, was executed with a gunshot to the back of the head.
• The remaining family members were shot directly from point-blank range.

The remaining family members were injured, including:

• Children of Shirin and Mahmoud Saleh: Shadi (6 years), Ibrahim (4 years), Lavand (2 years)

The injured were later transferred to Deir ez-Zor Hospital after a civilian family found them on the roadside.

Shirin Mohammad Saleh documented the moments of the massacre through 11 audio messages sent while she was bleeding to her brother-in-law, Ismail. In these messages, she pleaded for the rescue of her children and confirmed the killing of her family members one by one.

⚠️ Context:
The massacre occurred just one day after a meeting between Kurdish leaders and the U.S. Special Envoy to Syria, Tom Barrack, in Erbil (January 17, 2026), and on the same day a ceasefire agreement was announced between Damascus and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
