After burning the cities of the Syrian coast, destroying thousands of hectares of forests, villages, and homes on a sectarian basis, the de facto authority extended its arson campaign to the villages and hamlets of Wadi al-Nasara.

These fires were intentional. There were no high temperatures to justify such destruction, nor remnants of the regime as they falsely claim, nor any weapons depots in the area. Instead, the fabricated narrative was propagated through their manipulative media to conceal their crimes.

For those unfamiliar, Wadi al-Nasara is one of the most beautiful and historically significant regions in Syria—renowned for its natural splendor, hospitality, and heritage. Since Roman times, it has been known as Wadi al-Nadara, Wadi al-Nasara, or the Valley of the Christians, located west of Homs. It was also named Wadi al-Sayeh, after Alexander of Homs, and Wadi al-Khalidiya, as its roads lead to the mausoleum of the Companion Khalid ibn al-Walid.

A land steeped in history, it is home to the Crusader fortress Krak des Chevaliers, along with dozens—indeed, hundreds—of churches and monasteries recognized worldwide, surrounded by orchards of grapes, apples, pine, and oak.

This is not an authority that serves or protects the people—it is one that deliberately sets forests ablaze, destroying trees, stones, and human lives, standing idly by as the land burns.

At the height of the fires, church bells rang out across the villages as desperate calls for help and warnings to residents.
