Gunmen linked to the de facto authority opened fire at point-blank range on Wasil Al-Mohammad and his son Ahmad Wasil Al-Mohammad, a father of four, right outside their home. The father was killed instantly, and the son succumbed to his injuries an hour later, leaving four children uprooted and alone.
Locals rushed to help, but the attackers vanished into thin air toward Aqrab.

This atrocity is part of a disturbing pattern of attacks targeting the Alawite community in the region.
How much longer must this continue?

During the barbaric assault on Suwayda Governorate, an individual known as Abu Shahid Daraya appeared alongside the “Red Bands” inghimasi units, issuing direct threats of “cutting moustaches” and “exterminating the Druze monotheists,” while directing collective insults at the population of an entire governorate.

Today, the same individual is seen carried on shoulders in pro–de facto-authority gatherings in Damascus, publicly attacking “projects of division and federalism” while repeating the phrase “we have no sectarianism,” in a striking contradiction that exposes the depth of incitement and manipulation of the narrative.

This individual, known as Abu Shahid Daraya, represents a clear example of persons who documented themselves while engaging in:

• Open sectarian incitement
• Direct participation in barbaric attacks on the coast and Suwayda
• Committing or supporting massacres against civilians based on religious and sectarian identity
• Killing women, children, the elderly, and unarmed civilians
• Torture, mutilation, and desecration of victims’ bodies—grave violations that shame humanity

Despite the clear visual and verbal evidence, the individual in question—and others like him—remain free and untouched by any form of accountability, with no legal or judicial measures taken against them. This persists within an environment that legitimizes terrorism, entrenches a culture of impunity, and continues to reinforce hate speech and the exclusion of Syria’s diverse religious communities.

“Latakia, Tuesday 25 November 2025: Documenting Atrocities Against Alawite Protesters”

Footage has emerged documenting an armed attack carried out using personal firearms (handguns) and military weapons (Russian rifles) by groups presented as “civilians,” in full view of de facto authority elements, with no intervention to stop the assault. In this context, it was also documented that the General Security apparatus armed civilians to carry out the attack against Alawite protesters, reflecting the security forces’ direct involvement in inciting sectarian violence and systematically targeting civilians.

The attack targeted peaceful protesters from the Alawite community at Al-Zira’a Roundabout in Latakia during their uprising on Tuesday, 25 November 2025, demanding their basic rights. These protesters had previously been subjected to massive atrocities in March and successive massacres since the fall of the previous regime up to the present day.

The protesters were demanding accountability for ongoing violations and the deprivation of tens of thousands of their natural rights to live as equal citizens, peacefully expressing grievances over oppression, discrimination, and injustice—demanding the most basic human rights:
to protest, and to claim their security, dignity, and economic and political rights without threat or repression.
