A geographic analysis and weapons tracking conducted by Saheeh Masr revealed that the promotional footage was not filmed in a single location, but rather relied on scenes recorded in both Syria and Egypt, indicating operational links with armed elements and factions active inside Syrian territory.

These findings point to direct intersections between the Hasm Movement and factions incorporated into the so-called “new Syrian army,” in terms of areas of activity and types of weaponry, reflecting the use of Syria as a space for regrouping and redeployment by transnational terrorist organizations.

Terrorist Hani Al-Sebai is among the figures linked to the movement and maintains a direct relationship with terrorist Ahmed Mansour, highlighting the intertwining of Brotherhood and jihadist networks with armed factions operating under the umbrella of the de facto authority in Syria.

Ahmed Mansour is not the only Egyptian among the ranks of the de facto authority’s forces under Al-Jolani. A significant number of these individuals are listed on Egypt’s terrorism watchlists and are internationally wanted.

The presence of multiple Egyptian terrorists within these formations has been previously documented, including, but not limited to:

• Background: After 2013, he joined the Turkish-backed Nour al-Din al-Zenki Organization, which later came under the command of the De Facto Authority and integrated into its Ministry of Defense forces.

Fathy rose to prominence after the January 25, 2011, revolution. He was among the founders of the Salafi “Al-Fadila” Party in October 2011 and was a notable figure within Islamic movements of that period. He also established the “Hazmoon” movement to promote the Islamic leader Hazem Salah Abu Ismail, appearing alongside him in several meetings.
