I have never been an attendee to the daily stands out the front of Western Australia's Governor's House. But I know those who do join in the daily stands do so with a high level of commitment, and are always peaceful, and I respect them for that.

Yesterday (January 2nd, 2023) out the front of Governor's House, I've heard reports of 3 arrests being made, with the police charging all 3 with "stalking" the Governor of WA - and former WA Police Commissioner - Chris Dawson.

I don't need to be an attendee to a particular protest to care about the Universal Right to engage in peaceful political expression, which is all the Governor's House daily stand represents. This incident is a complete waste of police resources and a complete waste of the judicial system, given the charges will surely not stick. But worst of all, it reeks of political influence within the WA Police Force.
