Music in Profiles

• With this update, users can now add songs from any chat directly to their profile.

• When music is saved to a profile, a separate playlist is automatically created, including previously saved tracks.

• The audio file placed at the top of the profile playlist or added last will be displayed as the main track.

• To save music to your profile, play any audio in the built-in player and tap “Add to Profile”. You can also find the track in the chat playlist and choose “Save to... > Profile”.

• The song will be added to the user’s public playlist, visible to anyone viewing their profile. Currently, playlist visibility cannot be customized.

• You can view, sort, and delete tracks from your music playlist in the “My Profile” section.

• Users can choose how to save a track: to device storage, to the “Favorites” chat, or directly to their profile.

Gift-Based Themes

• This update introduces dozens of new dynamic chat wallpapers based on Telegram’s collectible gifts.

• Owners of such gifts can apply special wallpapers as custom themes in any private chat.

• The appearance of each wallpaper depends on the gift’s attributes: every collectible item generates a unique theme using its model and background.

• One unique gift allows the use of only one theme in one specific chat.

⚠️ Note: This feature is currently available only to owners of the following collectible gifts: Plush Pepe, Precious Peach, Durov's Caps, and Heart Locket. Developers promise to release personalized themes for other gift collections as well.

Updated Profile Screen on Android

• The Telegram for Android app has received a redesigned interface for user, group, bot, and channel profiles.

• The new layout features stylish scroll animations, and some options have been moved to the space below the profile photo.

• Similar profile design changes were introduced on iOS just under four years ago.

• Recently, the Telegram team held a contest among Android developers to redesign the existing profile screens based on provided samples.

Default Profile Tab

• You can now choose which section of your profile will be displayed by default — for example, to highlight your gift collections or saved stories.

• To place a section first in the list, go to Settings > My Profile, long-press the desired tab, and select “Set as Main Tab”.

• This setting is also available for groups and channels where you have admin rights to edit profile information.

Telegram For Android And iOS Updated to Version 12.1

Here’s what’s new in the October update:

• Comments in group calls: 
Participants in video chats (up to 1000 members) and group calls can now send comments and reactions directly in the call interface. These messages are temporary and disappear a few seconds after being sent.

• New profile color settings: 
Starting today, in addition to standard color schemes, you can use your collectible gifts to uniquely style your profile cover and replies. Available to Premium users only.

• Contact notes: 
When adding or editing a contact, you can leave a text note visible only to you in the user’s profile under the “About” section.

• Liquid Glass design on iOS 26: 
Telegram’s interface has been updated with the Liquid Glass concept. This version introduces transparent elements with soft light refraction effects during scrolling. The design will continue evolving gradually.

• Topics and real-time response rendering in AI bots: 
Bots now support chat topic separation. They can also display responses in real time without waiting for full generation.

Telegram for Android And iOS Updated to Version 12.2

Here’s what’s new in the big November update:

• Live broadcasts in Stories:
In the Stories section, under the “Live” tab, you can now start a live stream either personally or on behalf of a channel. During such streams, users can leave short comments and pin them using stars. The broadcaster can stream via their device’s camera or through external applications.

• Recurring messages:
When scheduling a delayed message, users can now specify how often it should be sent: daily, weekly, every two weeks, monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, or annually.

• Auction for gifts:
A new mechanic distributes limited gifts among users who place the highest bids in stars. If your bid is outbid and drops from the top, it is automatically carried over to the next round. If the bid loses in the final round, all spent stars are fully refunded.

• Redesigned panels on Android:
The new “Liquid Glass” design is now applied to interface elements such as the message input field, button panels in bots and channels, and the menu for commands and hashtags. The glass effect can be disabled under Settings > Power Saving > Chat Animations.

Passkeys, Gift Purchase Offers and More

Telegram for Android has been updated to version 12.2.10, and Telegram for iOS to version 12.2.4. Here is what is new in this release:

• Passkeys: You can now create a Passkey on your device. It allows you to instantly log in to Telegram using a PIN or biometric data (fingerprint or Face ID). This makes signing in accessible even when you have no active sessions, no cellular service, or when SMS delivery from Telegram is blocked by carriers.

The @tginfo team has prepared a detailed guide and FAQ regarding the Passkeys feature. We've also developed troubleshooting steps for common problems with Passkeys on Android.

• Gift Purchase Offers: When viewing gifts in a user's profile, you can now offer to buy a gift you like from the owner, but for no less than 125 Stars or 1.1 TON. You set the price and duration of the offer yourself, and the amount is reserved for the validity period of the offer.

• Extended Audio Selection in Stories: Now, when creating a story, you can use music from your Saved Music playlist, as well as from recently sent audio files in your chats.

Other additions:
• View all attributes of collectible gifts.
• Channel settings now allow restricting which administrators can ban users.
• Note: the extended Liquid Glass redesign from the Beta version is not active in this release.

Telegram for Android and iOS Have Been Updated to Version 12.3

Telegram has postponed a large-scale redesign on Android — there is no bottom navigation menu in the iOS style in this version.

• Brief AI Summaries: When viewing long posts in channels, you can instantly view summaries of their content. A summarized version of Instant View articles is automatically displayed at the top of those, as well.

To generate such excerpts, open-source models running on the decentralized Cocoon network are used.

• Complete support for Liquid Glass on iOS: The client now fully supports the "Liquid Glass" style. Thus, transparent elements and soft light refraction have been added to all areas of the application.

Other New Features:
• The button for adding media to drafts has been moved on Android.
• Chat translation is now performed using Cocoon.

Telegram for Android and iOS Have Been Updated to Version 12.5

Here are the new features that became available in the March Telegram update:

• Tags for non-promoted chat members: Non-admin members of group chats can now have a tag that will be placed next to their name.

Tags of admins and owners now have a different color.

• Disabling copying and forwarding DMs: You can now prevent the other side from copying, saving, and forwarding messages from private chats. To activate this, you need to go to the user's profile and select the menu item "Disable sharing".

This is available only to users who have subscribed to Telegram Premium.

• Interactive dates: You can now format a piece of text as date. When you tap on such text, you will be offered to set a reminder or add the date to the platform‘s calendar.

Other Changes
• The iOS app can now download media in the background.
• You can now add a text caption to a GIF animation before sending it.
• In public polls, the time of each user's vote is now displayed.
• You can now directly edit stickers from any set, as well as create new ones based on the photos you're viewing.
• The authorization system on websites via Telegram has been improved.
• All bots can now use the text streaming functionality.

Massive Update to Polls and AI Text Editor

The messenger's team is testing several major new features in the Beta version of Telegram for Android 12.6. Here is a brief overview:

• Poll improvements across the board: deadlines, media files in answers, random option order, and the ability for participants to suggest their own options. Poll answer options have received separate links to specific voting options, as well as the ability to reply to them, copy, and delete user-suggested options.

• AI text editor and translator: a built-in assistant for translation, error correction, style changes, and automatic emoji placement. A few uses are available for free, with increased limits for Premium.

• Motion Photos: support for viewing and sending "moving" photos (a short video before and after the shutter button was pressed).

• Profile Playlist: search through saved tracks and add audio files directly from device storage and shared audio in Telegram.

• Updated indicators: a redesigned look for mentions and reactions, as well as notifications about new votes in your polls directly in the chat list.
