Today, 2 Palestinians, Hamouda Jaaba and Firas Jaaba (both 27), from the same family in al-Khalil, West Bank, carried out a shooting attack at a checkpoint near the city, killing 2 Israeli soldiers, Staff Sgt. Ron Yonatan Roytman and Sgt. Yuval Shai Svilem, and wounding 3 others (according to Israeli media)
The 2 Palestinians used a vehicle with Israeli license plates and were killed by Israeli army soldiers after a 20-minute gunfight, according to Israeli media.
Netanyahu ordered al-Khalil sealed and a full lockdown of the West Bank, while Ben Gvir called for dismantling and disarming the Palestinian Authority.
Following the shooting, the Israeli army imposed a complete lockdown on al-Khalil and surrounding villages, deployed reinforcements, closed roads, and began military operations inside the city.
