This is the Farsh al-Hawa area in al-Khalil, where clashes took place between two Palestinians and Israeli army soldiers stationed at a military checkpoint used to harass, humiliate, and detain Palestinians entering and leaving al-Khalil.
Israel held Palestinian families living near the checkpoint responsible for the clashes and for failing to defend the Israeli military checkpoint.
