The United Nations’ World Food Programme is finalizing a five-year renewal of its contract with US data software firm Palantir despite “key privacy concerns” raised in a leaked 2025 internal audit. The audit, seen by PassBlue and FRANCE 24, reveals UN misgivings about allowing Palantir to process data for the world’s largest humanitarian supply chain.

The World Food Programme (WFP) manages one of the biggest biometric databases in the world.

To help the WFP track humanitarian aid and manage its supply-chain data, Palantir developed the Digital Operations and Transformation System (DOTS).

A cyberattack on the Rome-based agency in May exposed sensitive data on thousands of aid beneficiaries in Gaza, underscoring concerns about data protection. However, the WFP said the attack was limited to its Self-Registration Application for Palestine, where displaced people can sign up for aid, but which has “no direct connection” to Palantir software.

A new report (attached) by independent researchers Tina Indrani Mason and Rose Worden for the “Tech for Bad” initiative says the WFP is still “investing heavily” in DOTS and warns of a “contravention of UN principles.”

Entitled “Palantir and the World Food Programme: The egregious partnership at the heart of the world’s largest humanitarian supply chain,” the report describes the UN’s partnership with Palantir as “a clear conflict of interest and a grave abdication of ethical responsibility.”

Despite the misgivings, a WFP spokesperson said the agency is set to renew its contract with Palantir.

MS NOW spoke to a dozen family members who say they are extremely concerned with the morale, safety and conditions on the ship. They described a crew straining under the demands of an unexpectedly long deployment, as President Donald Trump continues to extend his military campaign against Iran with no clear end in sight.

Families of the sailors and Marines aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln are sounding the alarm that their loved ones are so exhausted they fear it could lead to deadly mistakes, as the carrier enters its ninth month at sea and its fifth consecutive month of combat operations against Iran.

⚡️Hamas Political Bureau member Bassem Naim:

We are committed to the roadmap agreed upon with representatives of the Peace Council in Cairo a few days ago, and our agreement, despite all the challenges, reflects our concern for the interests of our Palestinian people.

We expect the mediators and the American guarantor to pressure Netanyahu and his government to adhere to the roadmap and not obstruct the process for internal political and electoral reasons.

⚡️Netanyahu:

As long as I am Prime Minister, there will be no Palestinian state, neither in Gaza nor in the West Bank, neither "Fatahistan" nor "Hamasistan."

Israel rejects the 15-point plan regarding Gaza. I heard someone say, "You didn't say that." So here I am saying it again: Israel rejects the 15-point plan.

The Israeli army will not carry out any withdrawal before Hamas is disarmed. And when I say Hamas is disarmed, I mean heavy weapons, light weapons, all weapons. We are talking about genuine disarmament, not a superficial one.

⚡️Nikolay Mladenov, Executive Director of the Peace Council, in an interview with Israel's Channel 12:

Destroying all these tunnels in Gaza will take more than 10 years. Therefore, the Peace Council is currently exploring contracting with other companies and contractors who can actually carry out this work.

The Roadmap is a document to ensure that Gaza will never again pose a threat to Israel's security, and that the events of October 7th will never be repeated.

We are continuing our discussions, and I hope they will lead to a positive outcome for everyone, resulting in the complete disarmament of all weapons in Gaza—all weapons, including those in the hands of the police, those in the hands of the factions and militias, heavy weapons, and production facilities.

If the weapons are disarmed, removed from the factions, stored, and ultimately rendered unusable, then Israel will withdraw from Gaza.

Israel is currently positioned at the Yellow Line; that is where its forces are stationed. What we are asking is that the IDF not deploy its forces beyond the Yellow Line.

My experience over the past eight months is that without Egypt and the other mediators, Turkey and Qatar, we would not have been able to reach a point where Hamas agreed to the roadmap. Their contribution was absolutely crucial in this matter.

What happened on October 7th will never, ever be allowed to happen again, as long as we fully implement the Peace Council plan.
