Palestinian captive Basel Abdul Rahman Al-Asmar, from the town of Beit Rima in the Ramallah district, has been blessed with twins, Ali and Awtar, through the use of smuggled sperm from inside Israeli prisons, in one of the forms of defying captivity and holding on to life.
Al-Asmar, born in 1976, has been in captivity since February 20, 2002, and is serving a life sentence plus 20 years. He has spent more than 24 years in Israeli prisons.

The occupation’s crimes and Judaization plans will not succeed in erasing the Muslim identity of Al-Aqsa Mosque. We call on the Ummah to act to protect Al-Quds and Al-Aqsa and to stop the aggression against our people, our land, and our holy sites.
The 57th anniversary of the crime of burning Al-Aqsa Mosque, which took place on August 21, 1969, comes amid a dangerous escalation by the fascist occupation government against the first Qibla of the Muslims and the third of their mosques, through provocative raids into its courtyards, attempts to impose temporal and spatial division, and preventing worshippers from reaching it, praying, and maintaining Ribat there.
Among these dangerous violations is the approval by the so-called extremist “National Security Minister” Ben Gvir to allow extremist Zionists to bring complete Jewish prayer books into Al-Aqsa Mosque, and to hold public and organized prayers inside its courtyards, an escalatory step targeting its sanctity, inviolability, and historic Muslim identity.
We in Hamas, on the 57th anniversary of the crime of burning Al-Aqsa Mosque, affirm the following:
The crime of burning Al-Aqsa Mosque represents a dangerous milestone in the ongoing targeting of the city of Al-Quds, Al-Aqsa Mosque, and its Muslim identity. What Al-Aqsa is witnessing today, including escalating raids, Talmudic rituals, and attempts to impose new realities in its courtyards, is an extension of this crime and an aggression against our Ummah, its holy sites, and its civilizational heritage.
The occupation has neither sovereignty nor legitimacy over Al-Aqsa Mosque. Its plans to Judaize it, alter its landmarks, erase its identity, divide it temporally and spatially, or legitimize Talmudic rituals in its courtyards will not succeed. Al-Aqsa Mosque will remain exclusively Muslim and a place toward which the hearts of Muslims throughout the world are drawn.
We salute the masses of our people in Al-Quds, the West Bank, and the occupied Palestinian territories, as well as those maintaining Ribat in Bayt Al-Maqdis and its surroundings. We call for strengthening the presence and Ribat at Al-Aqsa Mosque and confronting the plans of the occupation and extremist Zionists aimed at imposing new realities there.
We call upon our Arab and Muslim Ummah, its leaders, peoples, and organizations, to shoulder their historic responsibilities toward Al-Quds and Al-Aqsa Mosque, support the steadfastness of our people and those maintaining Ribat there, unite efforts, and take serious action to stop the occupation’s attacks and Judaization plans and defend the identity of Al-Aqsa Mosque and its Muslim status.

We mourn to the masses of our Palestinian people the heroic martyr and steadfast activist Fathi Khazem, a prominent Palestinian figure and the father of the two martyrs Raad and Abdul Rahman, who was martyred by the criminal Israeli army during its raid on his home at dawn today in Jenin.
As we mourn the martyr Khazem, who was the father of two martyrs and also the father of the captive Shaimaa, who is held in Israeli prisons, we affirm that the occupation’s crimes and its targeting of our people through raids, assassinations, and arrests will not stop the path of resistance, nor will they break the determination, steadfastness, and resolve of our people who remain committed to their land and rights.
We stand firmly with our people and the rebellious youth of the steadfast West Bank, and call on them to continue on the path of resistance

The barbaric occupation army’s storming of the home of the activist and Murabit Fathi Khazem in Jenin and executing him in front of his family is a crime of cold-blooded execution, a field execution, and an assassination in the style of mafias and hired gangs. It falls within the framework of the open war being waged by the occupation army against our people, as part of a policy of revenge and settling scores that highlights the moral degradation of the entity and its military and security establishment.
As we mourn to our proud people the martyrdom of the activist and revolutionary Mujahid Fathi Khazem, father of the two martyrs Raad and Abdul Rahman, and of the captive daughter Shaimaa, who is in the occupation’s prisons, we affirm that the occupation’s crimes will not pass without a response, and that they will inevitably fail to intimidate our people.
