World Zoonoses Day, which is celebrated annually on July 6 to honour the first immunisation against a zoonotic illness like Avian Influenza, West Nile Virus, or Ebola, is observed. On July 6, 1885, French biologist Louis Pasteur gave the first dose of the first vaccination against the zoonotic disease rabies. World Zoonoses Day holds significance in educating and raising awareness about zoonotic diseases that can be transmitted from animals to humans. The theme 0f 2022 is not announced yet, World Zoonoses Day 2021 theme is “By the way the theme for last year was "Let's Break the Chain of Zoonotic Transmission".
