More than 200 campers and counselors from Camp Taum Sauk were rescued by helicopter after severe flooding swept through their Missouri campground.
Gov. Mike Kehoe said eight helicopters were deployed to evacuate the children and camp staff after parts of the state were hit with 12 inches or more of rain in just a few hours.
All of the children were safely reunited with their families. According to the Missouri Regent C Incident Command, there have been more than 350 total flood rescues across impacted regions as of Friday evening.

A bright white object remained suspended high above Missouri, appearing almost motionless against the blue sky.
It didn’t appear to be a satellite, leaving more questions than answers about exactly what was captured.
