SOMETHING IS KILLING FISH AROUND THE WORLD
Dead fish are turning up in waters thousands of miles apart.
In Wyoming, thousands are suspected dead in the Salt River, where officials have confirmed the state’s first significant fish kill linked to a parasitic disease.
In Florida, fish are dying along the Chipola River as investigators search for a cause.
In Iowa, another fish kill stretches nearly three miles downstream, with ammonia detected and people warned not to use water from the creek.
And it doesn’t stop in the United States.
More than 44,000 pounds of fish have died in the Philippines, while Namibia is investigating another unexplained coastal die-off.
Then there’s South Africa, where the massive sardine die-off we’ve been following continues.
Different places. Different species. Different known or suspected causes.
But this many fish die-offs unfolding around the same time is hard to ignore.

DANGEROUS FLOODING SWEEPS THROUGH CENTRAL VIETNAM
Torrential rain is overwhelming parts of Quang Tri and Hue, sending rivers rising, swallowing roads and forcing roughly 700 people from 160 households to evacuate.
And the amount of rain is staggering, with more than 680 mm, nearly 27 inches, recorded at Bach Ma and even more expected across the region.
Now the danger is growing in the mountains, where saturated ground is raising the threat of flash floods and landslides.
Hundreds have already been forced from their homes, and with more rain coming, this may not be over yet.

MASSIVE FIREBALL LIGHTS UP SKY OVER MICHIGAN
A brilliant fireball just tore across the sky over Michigan.
The meteor became intensely bright before breaking apart, with cameras capturing the streak as it raced across the night sky.
It lasted nearly five seconds, with sightings reported across Michigan and as far away as Toronto, Canada.
The fireball appeared to be traveling toward the Lake Huron/Ontario region, but where the fragments ultimately ended up has not been confirmed.
Another massive flash overhead — and another unusual sky event captured across a huge area.

NEW VENTS OPEN AT KILAUEA AS PRESSURE BUILDS BENEATH HAWAII
Something has changed at Kilauea.
Two new vents have opened along the northwest wall of Halemaumau crater, with fresh lava spilling across the crater floor as activity intensifies at the summit.
One of the vents opened directly in the crater wall, while bursts of molten rock continue from the established vents nearby.
And beneath it all, Kilauea remains highly pressurized after an unusually long stretch of precursory activity.
Now new pathways have opened for magma, summit conditions are shifting, and exactly what happens next remains uncertain.
Kilauea remains at WATCH / ORANGE.

STATE OF EMERGENCY DECLARED AS FLOODING HITS PENNSYLVANIA
Western Pennsylvania is dealing with another round of serious flooding.
Heavy rain has hammered Washington County, dumping as much as 1.5 to 2.5 inches and sending water across roads, into low-lying areas and through communities.
Flash flooding has now been confirmed on the ground by emergency management, with Canton Township declaring a state of emergency as crews respond across the area.
More rain remains possible across southwestern Pennsylvania, where localized storm totals could approach 3 inches and additional flooding remains a concern.

MASSIVE CORONAL HOLES NOW DOMINATE THE EARTH-FACING SUN
Something has changed across the face of the Sun.
Just days after one enormous coronal hole stretched more than 300,000 miles across the solar disk, multiple massive dark openings are now visible on the side facing Earth.
One cuts deep across the southern half of the Sun, while another large opening has emerged farther north.
These regions are allowing high-speed solar wind to pour outward into space, with Earth positioned downstream as the Sun continues to rotate.
One massive opening was already facing us. Now there are several.
