Israel's intelligence monitors everything, and the planning required for this coordinated, well-equipped attack would have triggered numerous red flags inside Israeli intelligence. No, this attack was ALLOWED to happen. Israel needed a 9/11-style event to garner public support for a larger offensive being planned against Iran. So Israel was willing to sacrifice a few thousand of its own people to sway public opinion. Their plan has worked.
