Tensions between India and Nepal after India opened a strategic road in the Himalayan region, which is the shortest route to China (Lipu Lekh pass).

In retaliation, Nepal created a new map that showed the disputed territory within its borders.

Nepal parliament will approve the controversial map today, which includes India-controlled areas: Lipulekh, Kalapani and Limpiyadhura

This step is illegitimate because the three contested areas have been firmly under India’s control since India fought a war with China in 1962.
