π As you can see in this graph, the french CAC 40 lost in 5 days the equivalent of its six last month of growth.
πΆ Bad economic situation, added with social unrest, general strike and COVID-19, is destroying the french economy.
ποΈ Some analysts claimed the CAC40 could lose between 17 to 24% of its value until April 2020. So basically, 1/4 of its value.
π£ The goal of the current government is to do "damage-control" and avoid a total recession before march 2020, when major elections will happen.
π₯However, this could lead to an ever more troubled situation, as by artificially maintaining the french economy until the election, it could lead to a massive backlash just after the election.

π«π·π£ BREAKING : Macron's coup
βπ» As you noticed, for 2 years France has been facing important social troubles. Lately, protesters focused on the Macron's reform of the pension systems.
π© Most of the country opposes this reform ordered imposed by Macron/EU.
π³οΈ Until now, Macron played the game quite carefully, giving concessions to protesters and trade-unions.
β However, with the risk of the Bill being reppeled by parliament, Macron just announced he will use the "49-3".
βοΈ The Article 49-3 is a constitutional procedure allowing the gov. to pass a law without parliament control. So basically, a law not approved by the people.
π₯ It's supposed to be only used during crisis and emergency situation. This is highly criticized and was denounced as a "legal coup d'Γ©tat".
π This will create even more troubles. Using this procedure was the last thing to do in the current french context. Looks like Macron wants to increase tension.

For those interested in the constitutional aspect of this debate : here is a quick article in English about article 49-3.
But to keep it short and simple : it allows the government to pass a bill without any vote in Parliament.
The only way to stop the law from being enacted, is for the parliament to vote a motion of non-confidence with an absolute majority of the parliament.
This is de facto impossible in the french system, as by definition the parliament is composed by at least a majority of MPs from the government's party, and the absolute majority is impossible to reach because we have no coalition system. That's why it's a trick.
Also voting the motion of non-confidence would mean triggering new elections, and so for MPs to lose their place. Basically, they have no interest in voting it.
So it's an insane situation, where the government can freely pass laws withouy any control.
They did it in 2015-2016 during Holland's term. And it triggered 1 year of riot.
It will be the same now. This forced enactment of an already hated reform, will causes massive ressentiment and polarization.
