> The Coup d'État was not taken seriously by the high-command this morning but it is now taken into account as a game-changer event for the whole area.

> French troops were ordered to stand-by and to stay away from any political clashes.

> Jaguar plan has been reinforced in France : it is the plan allowing France to deploy a complete GTIA in 24h, that is to say to deploy a full autonomous combat brigade (2000 soldiers) in a few hours, for urgent situation. The Jaguar Plan may be triggers to (1) cover the evacuation of French troops, (2) evacuate French expats in the area.

> French troops in Mali were asked to prepare for "Dien Bien Phu", an ironical way to say "siege warfare, and urgent evacuation".

> We asked an infantry captain who admitted it was unthinkable to have real fights between the French army and the Malian one. He stated that the most probable scenario is :
- the coup fails because of regional support. Status Quo restored. (More probable)
- the coup succeeds and French troops will evacuate to Tchad or Niger (probable)
- the coup succeeds and France has to stay and take back power, Ivory Coast scenario (less probable)


> The DRM (French military intelligence) is working hard using SIGINT (data interception) to identify clearly what the coup is about, what is true, what is only rumors, etc. That is to say : France has no clue of what is actually happening.

> Rumors confirmed : Turkey may be involved, at least with a mediatical support…

CONCLUSION :
Nobody really knows what is happening. But the situation is very serious. No matter how the coup evolves, even if it fails, it will weaken the power of France in the area on the long term, as the malian President was overthrown with massive popular support. And this president was pro-french.

So... wait and see.

⁉️ A new era is opening for Mali. With the end of the pro-french government, everything is possible now.

💪🏻 You all know that the French army deployed 5000 soldiers in the Sahel area, mainly in Mali, Tchad and Niger.

🇳🇪 Unfortunately, a few days ago, 6 French civilians have been targeted by an Islamist group.

⛑️ The group was doing humanitarian work in the area of Niamey, when they fell into a deadly ambush.

🔪 The 5 Frenchmen were executed at gun point. The last one, who escaped, had her throat slit as seen in the pictures.

👊🏻 A combat group of French special forces was then deployed in the area to track down the terrorists and avenge the frenchmen's death.
