A woman has been found guilty of assisting the female genital mutilation of a three-year-old British girl during a trip to Kenya, becoming the first person to be convicted in England of committing the crime overseas.
The judgement has been hailed by prosecutors who said the case 'will hopefully encourage potential victims and survivors of FM to come forward, safe in the knowledge that they are supported'.
