Ahmadreza Haeri, journalist and human rights activist, has written about how Saman Yasin, a rapper and a political prisoner, has been subjected to mock execution in prison.
Last December, when Yasin was in ward 240 of Evin prison, one night an agent called him around 3 a.m and told him that they were going to carry out his sentence. They asked him to write his will and then walk onto a stage.The older agent told the younger one that Yasin was young, and that they should bend the rope so his neck breaks faster and he would not suffer that much. They put the rope around his neck while he heard a cell phone rang and the same officer said: " So shall we stop for now? Did you give him another chance to cooperate?”
Then they loosened the rope around his neck and sent him back to prison.

The Islamic Republic has executed Milad Zohrevand, a protester involved in the 2022 protests. His execution was carried out without his family’s prior notification. The Iranian government accused him of killing an IRGC member. Milad Zohrevand was denied basic due process rights. His execution must be condemned in the strongest possible terms by the international community.
