Hossein Shanbehzadeh, an editor and social media activist living in Tehran, was arrested by security forces in Ardabil on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 and taken to an unknown location. During a brief call, he confirmed to his family that he has been arrested. So far, there is no information about the reasons for his arrest or his whereabouts. He has a history of arrest and imprisonment for his activities.
A large number of users on X, where he has a large following, have writen that he was arrested because of a dot he posted under one of Ali Khamenei's posts on X, which received twice as many likes and was viewed much more than Ali Khamenei's post. The dot received a lot of impressions because it corrected Ali Khamenei’s punctuation mistake and was perceived as a slight to him.
