Tahmineh Mahdian, a sculpture student at the Iran University of Art, was banned from studying for five semesters by the Central Committee of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology. In September 2022, she was barred from entering the university campus for one academic semester without any official administrative action against her. In two subsequent semesters after that she was suspended due to allegations made against her. But now, after the end of this suspension, her suspension for two other semesters has been confirmed by the central committee of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology. Because of these suspensions she has lost the opportunity for entering directly for master's degree and faces the possibility of being expelled.
