After the authorities began investigating Niloofar Ghazaleh for the charge of failure to observe hijab in her car, they also charged her husband, Mohammad Ali Moghimi, with “endangering public health through keeping cats,” among other charges. This charge carries a one-year prison sentence. According to the daily Shargh, both Ghazaleh and Moghimi were sentenced to a total of three years’ imprisonment on various charges.
